Conservatives for Clean Energy South Carolina (CCE SC) named Luke Byars as the CCE SC Advisor and Giff Carpenter as their new Executive Director.
Conservatives for Clean Energy South Carolina is comprised of local conservative leaders who believe in a genuine ‘all of the above’ approach to South Carolina’s energy policy. They are also committed to advancing clean and renewable energy alternatives throughout the Palmetto State. Earlier this month, CCE SC announced a 6 person State Advisory Board including Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon, Tee Miller, Lindsay Agostini, Peter Brown, Nate Leupp and Graham Duncan. Conservatives for Clean Energy (CCE) now has active chapters in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and will expand in the state of Georgia this spring.
“We are excited to have both Luke and Giff on board to lead our efforts in South Carolina,” said Mark Fleming, President and CEO of Conservatives for Clean Energy. “As we begin to grow our team here in the Southeast, their strong relationships in the State House and all across South Carolina will certainly serve us well.”
Luke Byars said, “I am convinced South Carolina conservatives are ready to embrace clean energy. Conservatives support energy choice and more homegrown alternatives for our energy future. With all the explosive growth in the solar energy economy, South Carolina is quickly becoming the next sunshine state. It only makes sense for us to consider harnessing more renewable energy in our state. As a conservative, I believe we have a duty to become more responsible stewards of God’s creation.”
“South Carolina has a unique opportunity to become a national leader in clean energy,” added Giff Carpenter. “Other states have taken a lead in producing wind power and bio mass, while South Carolina has created thousands of new jobs in a booming solar economy here. As conservatives, we want to continue to grow our state and expand our clean energy economy. I look forward to working with state and local leaders to do just that.”
