Our History

Conservatives for Clean Energy launched as a North Carolina-based organization in June of 2014.  From the beginning, Conservatives for Clean Energy has worked to educate conservative policy makers, opinion leaders, grassroots leaders, and conservatives in general on the benefits of clean energy – specifically, solar, wind, energy efficiency, smart grid, energy storage, and the innovative technologies that advance clean energy adoption.  We emphasize market competition and choice for customers, which benefits all of us as ratepayers.

Following on the success of our North Carolina organization, Conservatives for Clean Energy-Virginia was launched in early 2017.  In both states, we have taken a leadership role in building and growing support for pro-clean energy policies.  We conduct statewide polls to gauge public opinion on energy issues, hold special events to inform conservative decision makers on the latest clean energy developments, and communicate regularly on social media with our 40,000+ followers.

In 2019, Conservatives for Clean Energy launched state organizations in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, creating a Southeast footprint for our organization. Future plans call for expansion into other states in the Southeast
