CCE-SC Project Director Grant Fontaine toured Rolls Royce’s Micro Grid in Aiken, South Carolina, on Tuesday, July 23rd. The micro-grid system practically advances access to clean and dependable energy for Rolls Royce’s MTU facility, storing renewable energy when it is not needed and then releasing it when it is needed. Yet another example of private sector-led clean energy technology innovation, the Micro Grid is designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
