CCE-SC hosted the first roundtable of its 2025 Clean Energy Conversations series, focusing on the state of clean energy policy in South Carolina. Sustain SC CEO Leslie Skardon presented recent poll findings showing broad support and sentiment for clean energy projects among GOP primary voters in the Palmetto State. Other discussions included the recently passed South Carolina Energy Security Act, which passed in the House of Representatives, the privatization of V.C. Summer, and current and future energy transmission needs, among other clean energy priorities and policies on the horizon in South Carolina.
CCE-SC was glad to hear from state Senator Jason Elliott (R-Greenville), state Representatives Brian Lawson (R-Cherokee), Blake Sanders (R-West Pelzer), and Mark Smith (R-Daniel Island), staff from Congressman Joe Wilson’s office as well as Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott’s offices, and other key voices in the clean energy landscape.
