Last week, Conservatives for Clean Energy Virginia (CCE-VA) hosted its annual legislative and awards reception in Richmond. We celebrated the recent announcement of the first fusion power plant in Chesterfield County and Governor Glenn Youngkin’s leadership. Numerous stakeholders attended the event, including Deputy Director of Energy Julianne Szyper, Deputy Commissioner John Cosgrove of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, countless members of the General Assembly from both parties, and many industry and other stakeholders.
CCE-VA recognized several leaders from the Hampton Roads Region, including longtime supporters Dawn Matheson and David Ropp of Chesapeake and Honey and Hooch Restaurant (owned by Dan and Barbara Sgueglia), for supporting CCE-VA’s mission of affordable, reliable, and increasingly clean energy policy in the Commonwealth.
Our Marquee Awards went to Gray’s Lambscaping, owned by Jess and Marcus Gray). Their company uses livestock such as sheep to graze large solar installations for general maintenance and upkeep. They have worked with numerous sites, including projects owned by Dominion Energy. Lastly, we recognized Delegate Carrie Coyner (R-75) for her energy leadership and co-founding the Conservative Energy Caucus in 2024.
Conservatives for Clean Energy’s message remains steadfast: Advance an “all of the above” energy policy that is more affordable, reliable, and increasingly clean. We need all forms of energy for our Commonwealth’s grid and our nation’s security.
